We are always trying to convince and persuade others. The truth is that we are all selling something. Even a baby, by its screams and cries, is in essence convincing its parents to tend to it. In its own unique way, the baby is persuading its parents to do what it wants—feed it, change its diaper, etc. But you and I, we cannot cry to convince others to do what we want.
The question is how can you persuade others? We have to use our words and language to communicate persuasively. The way we communicate is the package that others are either going to “buy” or not from us. And that’s why the skill of public speaking is so important.
