As a business owner, I understand the difficulties of trying to stay focused. There are so many distractions. Everything from social media and email to text messages and personal obligations. It can get crazy. I’m sure you can relate. That’s why I wanted to share a simple Flourishing framework that has been very helpful for me.
And if you’ve been struggling with focus in your business, I know it can be helpful for you too. The best part is that once you implement this simple strategy, you can start building some serious momentum in your business. Keep reading to learn more.
The Flourishing GAD Formula
The GAD formula is an acronym that stands for Get Anything Done. And it has been instrumental in helping me to fine-tune my own business productivity. Here’s how you can use the formula. First, set and commit to using it for 30 consecutive days. Once you’ve made the commitment, ask yourself: What one thing can I do every day—no matter what—that will move my business forward?
For example, it could be actions such as:
- Posting on social media
- Doing cold email outreach
- Attending networking events in your area, etc.
Whatever the case is with you and your business, it’s important to make the commitment to take consistent action with that step. The wins will eventually come with consistency. And this brings an important point to mind when going through this process…
Celebrate Progress
Once you have your action step in mind for the GAD formula and have made the commitment for 30 straight days, don’t forget to celebrate your wins. Now, your wins don’t always have to be landing a new client or getting a flood of new leads. They can be as simple as just taking that action you committed to.
So often, we get lost thinking we can only celebrate when something big happens in our business. And while celebrating those big wins is important, so is celebrating the fact that you showed up and took action for your business. The little things matter, too. So, ask yourself when you do your reviews:
- What did you learn?
- What would you change?
- What would you repeat or let go of?
- What is the next thing you’ll do going forward?
These questions in the reviewing process keep your momentum and motivation high. But they also get you focused on continuing to make progress by concentrating on what’s next for you. They also allow you to celebrate because you’re able to see your progress and what must be done to move forward.
And that’s a powerful motivator. And this is where I have found the Flourishing GAD Formula so valuable. It’s 30 days of accountability. Give it a try yourself, and see how it works!
Wrapping Up: Final Thoughts and Next Step
When it comes to making progress in your business, it’s important to think about (and prioritize) progress over perfection. If we get too focused on trying to be “perfect” with every step we take, we end up slamming the brakes on our growth. And that’s not an effective strategy for business success, or for any kind of progress in life.
And of course, if you need some additional assistance when it comes to getting out of your way, we’re here to help! So, please contact us today if there’s any way we can support you in building your coaching business.
