We teach what we know, but we reproduce who we are. That’s why at Flourishing, our goal is to produce as many leaders as possible. And over the years, as I’ve developed my own leadership style and capabilities, I’ve learned that there are a few proven habits that help leaders to step into their greatness. Here are 7 of them to consider.

1. They Manage Their Mission

When you hear that word, mission. What do you think about it? You can think about your ‘why,’ you can think about your goals, you can think about your purpose, etc. There are many layers and meanings to that word. But when I think about the mission, I think about my focus. Imagine if you went through life in an undistracted way, how powerful you would become.

2. They Manage Their Motivation

Now, why should you prioritize your motivation? Because motivation is your fuel. It doesn’t mean that you’ll also have endless amounts of motivation. You’re always going to have peaks and valleys. But if you ensure your motivation levels are at a certain point, then you’ll always have the fuel you need to do what needs to get done in order to move forward every day.

3. They Manage Their Map (Daily Routine)

Another thing leaders do is that they manage their map. I call this my daily routine. A daily routine (a good one that is) is all about formulation. It’s about living with intention. So, how is your daily routine changing and improving? Are you too comfortable? Do you have a nice little daily routine that has allowed you to achieve a certain level of success? It might be time to switch things up a bit to step into that 2.0 version of yourself.

4. They Manage Their Mind

Your mind may seem like it’s unmanageable, but it’s actually not. Here’s the thing… Your mind is about fortitude. It’s about stickability. It’s the capacity to say no to instant gratification and say yes to the work.

5. They Manage Their Mood

Mood is important. It dictates the action you take or fail to take. Your emotions are powerful. And that’s why learning how to rally your mood is so crucial. And one way to influence your mood is to keep your ‘why’ at the forefront of your mind as often as possible. It’s about emotional regulation.

6. They Manage Their Mistakes

Unstoppable leaders also manage their mistakes. They don’t dwell on the errors of the past. Why? Because they make sure that they apologize appropriately for their mistakes and shortcomings to others. For this reason, they are able to let go of the things they get wrong and move forward in their lives and businesses.

7. They Manage Their Mental Health

Mental health speaks to functioning. When your mental health is in check, you’re functioning at an optimal level. And the way you keep your mental health at its pique is by applying a few simple concepts. You should do things such as exercise regularly, control your negative thinking, eat healthy, get enough sleep each night, and eliminate excessive stress.

Final Thoughts

Unstoppable leaders are unstoppable because of the way they manage themselves and their lives. And the best part is that anyone can apply these simple practices and step into their leadership capacities as a result. And we here at Flourishing are here to help.
