Have you ever had too much enthusiasm but not enough energy? Or too many tasks but not enough time? This might mean that you need to learn how to be more productive in your day-to-day life. In the first part of this 2-part article series on productivity, I shared 4 of the productivity hacks I use to get more out of each day. In this article, I’m going to cover the last 6. Keep reading to learn more.

Hack #5: Imperfection

Did you know that the first 3 letters in the word success are “SUC?” Here’s the thing: You have to suck for a while before you become great. And that’s okay because it’s all a journey, a process. You can’t let your fear of failure or fear of not being perfect hold you back from being productive. You have to be okay with being imperfect. That’s how you make progress.

Hack #6: Partnership

Partnership is this idea of going on a journey together. A lot of times, in entrepreneurship, there’s this notion that you have to do it all by yourself. That’s nonsense. We work from the exact opposite frame of mind. We want to do it together, as a time, a tribe, a community.

Hack #7: Circadian Rhythm

You have to learn how to go with your flow. Your circadian rhythm are physical, mental, and behavioral changes that follow a daily cycle. It’s also known as your sleep/wake cycle. This is so important in finding your flow of productivity.

Hack #8: PMES

Peak performers perform at their peak. I knew a young woman for 2 years while taking my MBA program at the University of Calgary. She had won a gold medal and a bronze medal at 2 separate Olympics. I also got to meet Manny Pacquiao, one of the greatest boxers in human history. And both of these world-class athletes said the same thing when I asked them what made them successful. They said that they are constantly working on their mindset.

Hack #9: Rest

In the end, only the rested survive. You can’t just be creating, producing, working all the time. Yes, that is crucial. But it’s only part of the equation. You also have to take time to rest. You need to unwind, relax, and allow for a period of total nothingness, inactivity to take place. This is how you recharge so you can hit the ground running again.

Hack #10

Interestingly enough, we flourish when we are having fun. It decreases stress, improves teamwork, and yes, even improves productivity. So always try your best to incorporate fun into your life when you can. It’s easy to forget. That’s why it needs to be scheduled and made a priority.
