I bring this to your attention because a short time ago, somebody asked me about energy, and how they can boost their energy level.

They didn’t feel they had enough in the tank; the demand on their personal energy was greater than their supply. This is very common. Every store you walk into has supplements, energy drinks, and herbal remedies that we can buy to reach the goal of increasing our personal energy levels. But how do we do it? We’ll get to that in a moment, but first, it’s important to know…

There’s a reason we are so keen to boost our energy, and it relates to this Tom Peters’ quote, “Nothing good or great can be done in the absence of energy.” We need the vitality and vigour that comes with an energized mind and body. 7 Ways to Easily Boost Your Energy Levels Fast

There are certain things you can do—if continually practised—that will boost your personal energy levels. So what are they? Keep reading to find out!

1. Eating and Sleeping Right

You cannot overstate the importance of proper sleep and diet. If you aren’t taking the time to cover these two essentials, you will never have the energy to do your best work. Here’s the deal… We all have energy inputs and energy outputs; let’s take a closer look at each…

  • Energy Outputs: This consists of anxiety, stress, fear, worry, and doubt. It also includes the things that produce those emotions, such as the meetings, the work, etc. It’s all those things that create the conditions for a lack of energy in your life. 
  • Energy Inputs: This involves all of the good things that help boost your energy such as what we’re discussing regarding proper sleep and nutrition. 

So if your output is exceeding your input, well, of course, you’re not going to have the energy you need to get through the day. So, do everything you can to ensure your inputs are at an optimum level. Namely: Getting enough high-quality sleep and eating the good foods that will fuel your mind and body. 

2. Exercise

The best thing you can do—if you’re lacking energy—is to spend it in a healthy way. That’s by exercising! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been exhausted, and I go for a run, and boom, my energy level is back where it should be. 

3. Effort

Here’s the strange thing about energy: When you have low energy, you don’t put any effort out there because you’re “conserving and rationing your energy.” But actually, when you put effort out there, it generates the energy you need. So here’s what’s really cool: if you want to get to the next level of energy, put out the next level of effort! There’s another gear in you! Find it and go higher.

4. Expectations

People who expect the worst generally feel the worst. If you’re expecting all kinds of crazy crap to hit your life, guess what? You won’t be disappointed. And what’s worse, this kind of attitude is going to impact your energy, motivation, and enthusiasm. Conversely, when your expectations are positive, it’s completely different. Your energy becomes vibrant and abundant.

I’ll tell you what, the way to overcome apathy is with enthusiasm and energy. So the next time you feel apathetic, the best thing you can do is nail it on the head with energy! 

5. Enthusiasm

Here’s the deal: Energy goes where your enthusiasm flows. Now, often we lack energy because we’re forced to perform in an area we have no passion for. So I want you to think about where your passion and enthusiasm is. Because the more you do those things, the higher level of energy you will have. 

6. Ending Negative Thinking

Nothing drains energy like negativity. For this reason, you have to constantly cultivate the garden of your mind. If you’ve got a bunch of weeds in there, it’s going to be literally impossible to have the kind of energy you need. So I want you to ask yourself a simple question:

Who are you surrounding yourself with?

If you’re constantly surrounding yourself with negative people, you will develop a negative mindset as a result. And that will destroy your energy level. However, when you can find and surround yourself with positive and optimistic people, that will, by default, improve your energy. 

So take an inventory of your social circle. And if there are people who aren’t contributing to your energy and quality of life in a positive way, it may be time to cut the cord on those relationships. 

7. Eliminate Worry From Your Life

I truly believe that you and I have an opportunity every day to improve our lives by eliminating this energy killer. Worry will destroy your energy quicker than most things ever could. Why? Because you’re making yourself mentally sick by thinking about all the things you cannot control. You have to learn what that old prayer said…

“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” 

So what does that mean?

It means you can generate more energy by simply letting go of the things you can’t control. Here’s the deal; if you can generate more energy, you can generate more enthusiasm, which will, in turn, generate better results.
